About. The Pittsburgh Penguins were
one of six teams added when the NHL doubled in size in 1967. Led by Mario
Lemieux, one of the best players of his time, the Pittsburgh Penguins won
the Stanley Cup championship in 1991 and 1992. From 1988 to 1997, Lemieux
was the NHL’s leading scorer and was voted the league’s most valuable
player three times. The Penguins currently play at Mellon Arena. |
