About. In 1887 the Predators joined the NHL when the league announced that four cities had been awarded expansion franchises: Nashville; Atlanta; Columbus, Ohio; and Saint Paul, Minnesota. They play their home games at the unfortunately named Gaylord Entertainment Center.
